Benabbey Lodge is an exclusive Fly-In Hunting Lodge located on a beautiful 3 lake system surrounded by hills and valleys in the middle of fantastic moose & caribou country. As you can see the lodge is on a long sandy beach. Perfectly remote area free from locals & other hunters at the headwaters of Fishell's River. A hunters paradise, the area is also fantastic for a non-hunting guests to go hiking, boating, kayaking, photography, or trout fishing.
STEEL MOUNTAIN LODGE - HISTORY (Since 1966)
Steel Mountain Lodge started in 1966 with the purchase of the lodge & property located at the base of scenic Steel Mountain in Western Newfoundland - Canada. This is an area well known to Big Game Hunters and Atlantic Salmon Fishermen. Ben Alexander expanded Fly-In Hunting Excursions to Benabbey Lodge and was one of the first Members & President of the Newfoundland Labrador Outfitters Association (NLOA). He worked tirelessly with the association as an Outfitter for over 50 years, consulted with various interest groups, government, and local hunters to promote sustainability and enhance tourism potential for all of Newfoundland.

EASTERN CANADIAN MOOSE has an average antler size measuring 42 inches....stands 7 to 10 feet tall. Bulls will weigh 850 to 1200 lbs and females around 600 to 850 lbs [1kg = 2.2lbs]. Moose numbers in Newfoundland have flourished since it was originally introduced here in 1878.

This Package: 1 Hunter with 2 Moose Licenses. In Newfoundland, a minimum of a 24 caliber rifle is required to hunt moose. It is important to shoot for the vital areas of a moose since they are huge animals. Each day from lodge our experienced Guide will take the Hunter to known Moose areas.
